Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy
Find Yourself Struggling In Your Life Unable To Find True Relief?
Do you struggle with constant worry or anxiety and feel stuck despite trying other therapy methods? Are you a man seeking to truly connect with your emotions and build stronger, lasting relationships? Have you been looking for personal and spiritual growth but feel you’re not getting anywhere?
Maybe you feel like you’ve become stuck in a loop of overwhelming sadness or suppressed emotions. Or perhaps you’re struggling to deal with unresolved traumatic experiences that affect the way you live your daily life.
What Is Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy?
Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) is an effective therapeutic approach that combines the use of ketamine—an FDA-approved medication with unique properties—and guided talk therapy to help people address mental health challenges. It is effective in treating conditions like ADHD, anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, and even chronic pain, especially when traditional treatments haven’t worked.
KAP started gaining attention after ketamine (first developed as an anesthetic in the 1960s) was discovered to have powerful effects on mood and mental health. In the 1970s, researchers began exploring its potential for treating depression, and by the 2000s, therapists started combining it with talk therapy to help people open up emotionally and heal from deep within. During our sessions, you will take ketamine in a safe, controlled setting by a trained professional. It helps create a state of openness and insight, making it easier for people to explore and process emotions, break negative thought patterns, and promote personal growth.
What Are The Benefits Of Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy?
Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) offers a unique and transformative approach to mental health and relationship healing. It can help you uncover and process suppressed emotions or trauma, develop new, positive perspectives, and reframe painful memories in a safe and manageable way. The dissociative effects of ketamine create a sense of detachment, allowing you to access deep emotions without feeling overwhelmed.
KAP also supports those who would like to experience spiritual growth, offering clients a deeper sense of connection, openness, and clarity. Many feel more grounded, less burdened by rigidity, and more capable of connecting with themselves, others, and their faith or spirituality in a way they’ve never felt before. This expanded “margin” allows for greater self-compassion and deepens profound connections.
For Christians and all spiritual seekers, ketamine treatment can be a gateway to encountering God in a new and life-changing way. It opens the heart to greater peace, understanding joy, and breaking free from the constraints of daily struggles, thereby creating space for a renewed sense of faith and purpose.
Unlike traditional therapy or medications, KAP integrates both for a holistic healing experience. It provides fast symptom relief and practical strategies for long-term well-being. Clients often report feeling like they’re finally able to live the life they’ve always wanted, with greater emotional, spiritual, and mental clarity.
Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy At The Loppnow Relationship Center
My approach to ketamine-assisted psychotherapy is designed to ensure my clients feel comfortable, safe, and supported throughout the process. Here’s what this looks like:
Initial Consultation
The journey begins with a consultation to discuss your mental health history, current challenges, and therapy goals. This session helps determine whether KAP is a good fit for your needs. If we’re a good fit for your needs, I will refer you to a licensed prescriber through Journey Clinical for a medical evaluation. First time patients will have an initial medical consultation fee of $250, and an $88 cost which covers two session’s worth of medication. For ongoing treatment, follow-up medical consultations are $150 (at least once per quarter) and $148 for six session’s worth of medication.
Medical Evaluation
A licensed Journey Clinical prescriber reviews your medical and psychiatric history through telehealth to ensure ketamine is safe and suitable for you and your needs. This step prioritizes your health and safety.
Ketamine Prescription
Once approved, you’ll receive a sublingual ketamine prescription, which will be shipped directly to your home. Sublingual ketamine (absorbed under the tongue) is used instead of intravenous (IV) administration, making the process more comfortable and accessible.
Preparation Session
Before your first ketamine session, we will set clear goals, address any concerns, and prepare for your experience. This includes discussions about safety, expectations, and practical advice to ensure a positive and meaningful session.
Ketamine Treatment Session
Ketamine therapy typically takes place over the span of six to eight sessions, each session lasting between 1.5 to 2 hours. Sessions take place in a calm, supportive environment either in person or via telehealth. I will be right there by your side guiding you throughout the experience, helping you explore emotions and insights as they arise.
Integration Session
Once the effects of the ketamine wear off, we can reflect on the experience. This integration session focuses on understanding and applying any insights gained during the session to your life.
Post-Session Care
After the session, you’ll need a chaperone or a ride home for safety. The rest of the day is dedicated to self-care—journaling, taking gentle walks in nature or simply relaxing. This time allows you to process the experience and recharge.
Ongoing Support and Monitoring
Therapy continues beyond the ketamine sessions with regular integration and ongoing support. This phase ensures that you can sustain the progress made and be able to experience positive changes in your daily life.
My Background With Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy
I’ve been offering Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) for about a year, and my journey with it began in 2023 when I experienced my first KAP session personally. I trained with Journey Clinical and continue to engage in ongoing training to stay at the forefront of science and therapeutic healing.
To offer this treatment with integrity, I knew I had to experience it myself. My personal KAP journey has profoundly impacted my life, fostering deeper compassion for myself and others. It’s given me more space in my inner world, allowing me to approach tasks and relationships with greater presence and intention.
Since then, I’ve noticed a significant reduction in anxiety, an increase in hopefulness, and a boost in my productivity and creativity. Experiencing KAP firsthand has reinforced my belief in its effectiveness—not just as a therapist but as someone who has seen its transformative power in both personal relationships and professional pursuits.
